Nairobi Orchestra presents RE:VISIONS — a vibrant programme exploring how composers re-imagined musical ideas across cultures, eras, and art forms. From Delius’ evocative La Calinda and Prokofiev’s cinematic Lieutenant Kijé, to Philip Glass’s symphonic reworking of David Bowie and Gottschalk’s groundbreaking samba-infused Symphony No. 1, the concert highlights rhythm, revision, and fresh perspectives. Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition appears in its brilliant orchestral form, alongside Bach’s visionary Double Violin Concerto, featuring soloists David Ralak and Timothy Mututi. Many of these works are rarely heard in Kenya, offering the audience bold sounds and new horizons.
